Akhil has had a highly successful track record in the global energy business. In a career spanning more than 34 years in leadership positions with Chevron, USA, and Shell, UK, he has lived and worked in both the developed countries (USA, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan); and the emerging markets of China, India and South/Central Africa.
He recently retired as MD and CEO of GS Caltex India, a joint venture of Chevron responsible for the South Asia market. Akhil also led the company business as Managing Director of Chevron Lubricants in India from 2006-2009. Prior to that he held positions of CFO, Chevron Global Manufacturing, San Ramon, CA; Executive Vice President and Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of GS Caltex, South Korea; Chevron Resident Finance Director, South Korea; CFO of Chevron South and Central Africa, Cape Town; Vice President and Director of Caltex Greater China, Hong Kong; and Assistant Comptroller & Manager of Accounting Policies of Caltex Corporation, Dallas. Prior to joining Chevron in 1988, Akhil was Assistant professor - Accounting at the University of North Carolina - Greensboro. Akhil started his career with Shell and worked in Logistics and Supply for 7 years.
Akhil has a PhD in accounting from University of North Texas, CPA (Texas), MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and an undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering from Bhopal University – India.
