Dr. Jesse Robertson joined the Department of Accounting in fall 2008 as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Robertson received his Ph.D. in accounting in August 2008 from The University of Alabama, and additionally holds a B.S in accounting from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from Morehead State University. He is a CPA and served as chief accounting officer for a commercial bank before entering his doctoral program. Dr. Robertson teaches auditing, including the external auditing course in the auditing track of the M.S. program. He has also taught accounting information systems courses at UNT. Dr. Robertson's research interests are in judgment and decision making in the auditing and ethics disciplines. He has published in academic journals such as Behavioral Research in Accounting, Journal of Accounting Literature, Journal of Business Ethics, and the International Journal of Auditing. He also has published in the CPA Journal, a leading practitioner journal. Dr. Robertson and his wife Kelli, a speech pathologist, have a young daughter. His interests outside the classroom include exercising and traveling with family.
