The University of North Texas College of Business invites you to attend the BornGlobal Innovators Forum on Healthcare-tech. In partnership with Astoria Consulting Group, the BornGlobal Innovators Forum on Healthcare-tech is a conference bringing together institutional investors, venture capitalists and start-up portfolio companies from around the world.

Hosted in Frisco, Texas, this networking opportunity will also include virtual forums from Palo Alto, California, Japan, Korea and China. Investors have an opportunity to gain insight into innovative companies, while startups and venture capitalists showcase their ideas and expertise.

1) Local Panel Session

2) Start-up Presentations: Up to 30 business presentations by venture capital portfolio companies. Presentations limited to 3 minute during session, with long-form presentations available via video library (online).

3) International Panel Session: Up to 12 Venture Capital firms from various international locations will be invited to panel interviews on video conference


Hubert Zajicek, MD

CEO & Co-founder of Health Wildcatters (, a healthcare seed fund and accelerator in Dallas, TX. Health Wildcatters provides mentorship, capital and guidance to up to 12 healthcare related startups during an intensive 12 week program which culminates in a pitch day annually. Health Wildcatters three funds are invested in over 30 healthcare startup companies. Dr. Zajicek has extensive experience with startups and is an active speaker, panelist and thought leader on healthcare innovation, startups, entrepreneurship & financing. He serves as advisor, mentor and board member on various organizations and startup companies. He was managing director – medical technology at NTEC (North Texas Enterprise Center), where he ran what eventually became the Southwest’s largest medtech investment conference, showcasing startups that attracted in excess of $300M. Prior, he was on faculty at UT Southwestern, as an NIH funded principal investigator, in the Departments of Internal medicine and Cell Biology. He is president and founder of the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs – DFW chapter, co-founder & partner of Lone Star Angels and is on the Board of the Southwest Venture Forum. He has an MD from the University of Vienna and an MBA from SMU.

Lea A. Ellermeier
CEO - NDI ( Prior to joining NDI, Lea Ellermeier co-founded Lingualcare, Inc., a Dallas, Texas based dental technology company that developed and marketed disruptive technology for the mass customization of invisible, orthodontic braces with operations in the U.S., Germany and Mexico. Lingualcare won the prestigious Dallas 100 Entrepreneur Award in 2007 for being one of the fastest growing, most dynamic companies in Dallas. Lingualcare was purchased by 3M Company in November, 2007. Lea served as Lingualcare’s CEO from the company’s inception in January, 2003 until the sale. Post-acquisition, she was president of 3M’s Lingualcare subsidiary and a member of the management operating committee of 3M Unitek. Lea founded Lingualcare after three years with OraMetrix, a healthcare technology company that developed platform technologies for dental imaging, orthodontic treatment planning and mass customization of orthodontic archwires. At OraMetrix Lea served as vice president of marketing and sales. Prior to OraMetrix, Lea served as vice president of marketing at AutoTester, a QA  software and professional services company. Ms. Ellermeier was director of marketing at XTRA On-Line Corporation, a start-up, Internet travel software-development company backed by Austin Ventures. Lea held management positions in international sales and product marketing at Micrografx, a developer of Windows graphics applications, where she was the managing director for Latin America, Africa, India and the Middle East. Lea started her career at GeoWorks in Berkeley, California working as a product manager. Lea has a B.A. in Political Science (Cum Laude) from the University of Texas El Paso and an M.B.A. from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ.

Aaron G.L. Fletcher, PhD

Dr. Fletcher founded and serves as President of Bios Research (, a financial services firm that provides public equity research in the healthcare space tailored to institutional firms and large family offices. Bios Research provides fundamental healthcare industry research focused in the biotech and med-tech sub-sectors and through this research, Dr. Fletcher has a strong understanding of commercial viability in the marketplace. Dr. Fletcher holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Colorado State University and currently serves as a visiting professor at Dallas Baptist University where he assists in teaching Biochemistry, Bioethics, and Cell Biology. Dr. Fletcher has worked as an independent consultant for the biotech/healthcare equity industry for over 10 years.
