What does it mean to #BLBeClean?

To be #BLBeClean is to be active in taking pride of the facility that was established on the core principle of cultivating innovation and ideals of future leaders of the world. To be #BLBeClean is to continue the integrity of the building that has been and will continue to be the birth of many connections and ideas of future leaders in business.

How was #BLBeClean born?

Here at The University of North Texas (UNT), our student body takes great pride in the university’s business college building: The Business Leadership Building (BLB). It would only be smart to do all we can to preserve this building, right?

Per the request of Dean Wiley, Delta Sigma Pi, a Professional Business Fraternity at UNT, set out to bring awareness to the college’s student body of the importance of maintaining cleanliness, professionalism, and pride in the building us Eagles have known as the BLB through an all-day campaign held at different events that attract students.

The BLB was constructed with the idea of energy and environmental conservation in mind, and to earn the highest possible rating from Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). The school holds an impressive student body exceeding 5,700 undergraduate students. Through strategic planning and design, the building offers students, faculty, and professionals are all the necessary amenities to succeed while simultaneously setting the standard for sustainable campus design.

As a student body, we need to have the same idea of conservation in mind as we go through our lives as young business professionals in the BLB. The beauty and utility of the BLB lies on our shoulders to ensure that future generations of professionals have equal access to it, and all it has to offer. A heavy responsibility, but not an impossible one for 5,700 to carry. Through a little awareness and care, The Business Leadership Building will last as long as its legacy of excellence and it’s up to us as students to continue that purpose.
