UNT Day at the Capitol

Wednesday, February 13, 2019 - 5:00am to 8:30pm

UNT Day on the Hill

The UNT Alumni Association will host its inaugural UNT Day at the Capitol event in Austin on Wednesday, February 13. At this event, alumni and students will visit all 181 elected officials to share UNT’s priorities, including funding to grow additive manufacturing research, autism research and other initiatives. UNT will also receive special recognition on the House and Senate floors.

This is the university’s first effort to mobilize the Mean Green family in our State Capitol. We want to paint our capital green, and we need your help! Student advocates will be granted excused absences from classes on February 13. All volunteers will receive advocacy training, bus transportation between Denton and Austin and meals for the day. Legislative visits will be pre-arranged—just arrive ready to tell your UNT story and show your Mean Green pride!

To join us at UNT Day at the Capitol, visit untalumni.com/advocacy.

We strongly encourage students to attend the Alumni Association's training session this evening:

Thursday, January 31, 6-7 p.m.
UNT Union, Room 332
1155 Union Circle, Denton

Late joiners will have additional 1-on-1 or small group training opportunities.
