Welcome from the Chair

The Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences (ITDS) is comprised of two academic disciplines, Information Systems and Management Science. The ITDS department has 26 research and teaching faculty whose mission is to conduct cutting edge research and prepare the next generation of information systems, management science, and business analytics professionals. Our department offers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and PhD levels. Four of our degrees are STEM-designated – BS in IS and BBA. MBA, and MS in Business Analytics. We offer all our courses and degrees on our beautiful Denton campus and many of them online and at our Frisco campus. Our MBA and MS in Business Analytics are both offered in Denton and Frisco and the MBA is also available online.

It is an exciting time to be a student or a graduate in the programs offered through our department. According to the most recent Society for Information Management IT Trends Report, IT budgets continue to rise and demand for information systems and business analytics professionals is on the rise, and so is their salaries. Starting annual salaries for our bachelors and masters graduates range from about $50,000 to over $100,000 and average in the $65,000 to $70,000 range. The latest Robert Half Technology Salary Guide can provide you with more information about the kinds of jobs and salary ranges of our graduates.

ITDS has a long track record of producing well-prepared, motivated, and, ultimately, successful business professionals and academicians. Our website has a lot of information about our degrees and faculty, but please do not hesitate to contact us if you’d like additional information about the ITDS Department and the programs we offer.

Sincerely,
