Wilner

Biography: 

Dr. Neil Wilner, Associate Professor of Accounting, joined the UNT faculty in 1987. He has an undergraduate degree, with honors, from Queens College, CUNY. Upon graduation he worked for KPMG in its’ New York office.  He then went to The Ohio State University and earned his Ph.D.  He was on the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh before coming to UNT.

Dr. Wilner teaches Cost and Managerial accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  He is the Director of the M.S. program.

Dr. Wilner’ publications use a behavioral methodology to study auditing and managerial topics. He also has numerous articles in educational journals. Articles of interest to the academic community have been published in such journals as The Accounting Review; Accounting, Organizations and Society; Journal of Management Accounting; and Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory. Educational research has been published in Issues in Accounting Education and The Journal of Accounting Education.

Dr. Wilner is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the American Accounting Association (AAA). He is an inactive CPA, licensed in the state of New York.

Dr. Wilner enjoys golfing in his spare time and watching a variety of sports. He has two children and two grandchildren whom he spends as much time with as possible.
