Biography: 

Mr. Ward has served on the Dean’s Advisory Board since 2000. He holds a BA in political science from the University of the South and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania. As a part of his undergraduate program he spent a year at the London School of Economics. Following graduate school Mr. Ward received a direct commission in the US Army where he served at the Army’s Transportation School and with the Traffic Management Agency, MACV. From the military, Mr. Ward worked for three third party logistics providers involved primarily in both dry and refrigerated warehousing. Since 1985 he has been President and CEO of Dallas Transfer and Terminal Warehouse. Dallas Transfer is a 3rd party logistics company serving over 60 clients ranging from the Fortune 500 to local start up companies. It is a restart of a family company with roots in Dallas that date to 1875. Mr. Ward has served for over 10 years as treasurer of the Texas Warehouse Association. He also serves on the Logistics Committee of the North Texas Commission and is a member of the River of Trade Corridor Committee. Mr. Ward has a deep interest in furthering education opportunities. He has served for several years on the Education Committee of the International Warehouse and Logistics Association. Since 1996 he has been president of the Texas Logistics Education Foundation (TLEF). The Foundation has been the primary industry supporter of the UNT Logistics Program, contributing almost $1,000,000 in scholarship and other funding initiatives at UNT over the last 10 years.
