Blair B. Marquardt is an assistant professor of accounting in UNT’s G. Brint Ryan College of Business. She earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration concentrating in accounting from Texas Tech University. She also holds a Masters of Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. Prior to earning her Ph.D., she spent three years as a financial statement auditor primarily serving the financial sector. She is an actively licensed CPA in Texas. Dr. Marquardt’s research primarily studies the effectiveness of external mechanisms of corporate governance, including shareholder voting, large shareholders, and auditors. She has published in Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, International Journal of Auditing, and Thinking & Reasoning.
