Fouad Mirzaei joined the University of North Texas G. Brint Ryan College of Business in Fall 2017 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences, where he teaches decision science and analytics courses.
Dr. Mirzaei’s research interests center on the strategic customer-based plans and programs that generate sufficient extra revenues for firms. More specific applications include the pricing of auxiliary services and ancillary fares for airlines and designing customer revenue sharing programs for online social networks. His study on ancillary revenue was awarded the Ontario Graduate Scholarship.
He taught several graduate and undergraduate classes at the Leavey School of Business and Western University. He won Santa Clara University's Award of Teaching Excellence in 2017. He also earned Teaching Honour Roll Award of Excellence at University of Western Ontario during his doctoral studies. He was involved in Thompson Rivers University Bachelor of Business Administration program in China.
Fouad has more than six years of professional experience as a lean consultant (Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital), process analyst (Bonduelle North America), and production planning and quality manager in the automotive industry. His work and studies have taken him throughout Asia, Canada, Western Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.
He earned his B.S. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Amirkabir and Sharif University of Technology and his Ph.D. in Management Science from the Ivey School of Business.
