J. Kiarash Sadeghi is currently a teaching fellow and research assistant in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business. He holds a BS degree from Azad University and an MS degree from Oregon State University. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Marketing, Logistics, and Operations Management at the University of North Texas (UNT). In PhD program, J. Kiarash has a focus on Operations and Supply Chain Management along with a minor in Big Data Analytics. He is a member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi due to his excellent coursework and research activities in the Ph.D. program.
Following the U.S. CDC instructions, he currently teaches a face-to-face class Operations Management (OPMS 3830/Sprin2021). Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, his class was taught in a flexible format including 50% face-to-face, Zoom, and Online options in Fall 2020. Before joining UNT, he taught Information Systems Engineering (IE 412/512) in the engineering lab in Oregon State University and Information Technology, Programing Language, and Research Methodology at a higher education institution in Tehran. He was a teaching assistant for four years to improve his teaching philosophy and teaching skills. He learned how to design an active learning class along with IT skills such as content production, canvas tasks, and online activities. His pedagogy includes active learning in the class. Students experience learning by doing in the class. Students have a variety of homework based on current requirements in the market. Students build teamwork skills during group projects and assignments. His teaching focuses on working in a group to solve real problems designed into assignments and projects, a project-based learning method.
J. Kiarash Sadeghi has an analytical and empirical research background. At Azad University, he worked with distinguished professors in applied optimization. Moreover, he built skills in sustainability development during his program at Oregon State University. His research work is cited more than 800 times.
His focus is on empirical research in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, and Marketing. His recent empirical work is published in the Journal of Cleaner Production (IF 7.4), #1 in sustainability development, which is a new developed empirical framework in Operations Management.
In addition to his empirical research in risk management, business continuity management, cyber resilience, and disaster management, J. Kiarash continues to contribute to the research community through his current projects on blockchain technology, big data analytics in disaster management, and supply chain cyber resilience.
J. Kiarash Sadeghi serves as a mentor for undergraduate students in G. Brint Ryan College of Business. He has been elected as the Senator of G. Brint Ryan College of Business for the Graduate Student Council (GSC) at the University of North Texas since 2019. Moreover, he served as session chair in the 2019 and 2020 DSI conferences. He serves as a reviewer in decent journals such as the Journal of Supply Chain Management and the European Journal of Operational Research.
