Jamila S. Maxie is Ph.D. Candidate in Management focused on Organizational Behavior and Human Resources. Prior to joining the Ph.D. program, she worked in academe for over 16 years with experience in recruitment/enrollment management, academic advising, student activities/affairs, and test administration. She holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Northwestern State University, a graduate certificate in Organizational Leadership earned at the University of Houston – Downtown and two baccalaureate degrees: one in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations (cum laude) and another in Business Administration (summa cum laude). Before entering higher education, her professional experience included financial marketing and customer service.
In addition to her scholarly activities, she enjoys traveling (pre-pandemic) and trying new farm-to-table restaurants. Interesting tidbit – Jamila received a World Series Championship Ring during her employment with the Houston Astros.
