Dr. Salimath's research interests include cross national and institutional predictors of entrepreneurship, new venture activity, start-up dynamics, social entrepreneurship, ethics, governance, sustainability, innovation and techno entrepreneurship. She has published in journals such as Decision Sciences, Journal of Business Research, Technovation, Journal of Business Ethics, Management Decision, International Journal of Organizational Analysis, International Journal of Production Economics, Frontiers of Entrepreneurship Research as well as encyclopedias, reference series, monographs, and books. Dr. Salimath is a member of the editorial board of journals such as Journal of Business Strategies, and also served as the Track Chair for Entrepreneurship, Small Business and Strategic Management in conferences such as the Decision Sciences Institute, Western Academy of Management, Southwest Academy of Management and International Council for Small Business. Her research, teaching and service have received recognition and accolades. Dr. Salimath is the past President of the Southwest Academy of Management and past board member of the Federation of Business Disciplines. She is also the founding program chair of the International Conference on Entrepreneurship & Family Business, a joint undertaking by the Ryan College of Business, UNT and the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Dr. Salimath teaches Advanced Entrepreneurship (capstone course), Technology and Innovation Management, Small Business Development, as well as courses in Business Policy, International Management (graduate and undergraduate), and Organizational Theory (doctoral seminar).
