Warisha Khan, recent UNT Human Resources (HR) graduate, stands as a testament to the
success that follows a well-rounded education.
Having conquered the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional
exam (SHRM-CP), she exemplifies how a comprehensive curriculum can pave the way for
a successful career in HR.
“The UNT HR Program played a pivotal role in preparing me for the next step in my
career journey,” explained Khan. “Not only did it equip me with the knowledge and
skills necessary to excel in the SHRM exam, but it also provided invaluable support
and guidance from faculty members deeply invested in student success. Their dedication
inside and outside the classroom was instrumental in shaping my understanding of HR
practices and principles.”
While course instruction laid a valuable foundation, Khan also acknowledges the pivotal
role of internships in offering real-world skills applicable to the exam. This holistic
approach to learning, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience,
helped her feel well-prepared and confident.
“The UNT HR Program not only prepared me for success in the SHRM exam but also laid
the foundation for a fulfilling and impactful career in human resources. The comprehensive
education, supportive community, and practical experiences offered by the program
have truly been invaluable assets in my professional journey.”
