We are thrilled to feature Dr. Jae Webb, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Management. Dr. Webb has been awarded the prestigious RCOB Teaching Innovation Award this year! The annual teaching award is designed to recognize faculty for innovative instructional practices that enhance student learning.
Dr. Jae Webb has consistently gone above and beyond to enhance the learning experience for students. This award recognizes his efforts to shift from skill development and emphasize character development in an MBA Cohort Seminar in Business Ethics course. As the primary instructor for that course, Dr. Webb developed and implemented a pedagogical technique, Weekly Ethical Action Log (WEAL), that exemplifies the emphasis on praxis. The WEAL technique compels students to form an intention, actively engage in ethical actions outside the classroom, and share those experiences with the class.
Dr. Webb’s innovative approach to teaching has not only made the subject matter more accessible but has also inspired a different mindset. Here are just a few highlights of his contributions:
- Interactive Learning Techniques: This approach has significantly increased student participation and understanding.
- Student-Centered Approach: Always putting students first, Dr. Webb has encouraged the personal expression and exploration of situations that require moral judgment in the workplace.
This award is a testament to Dr. Webb's commitment to educational excellence and his passion for fostering an innovative learning environment. We are incredibly proud to have such an inspiring and dedicated educator as part of our faculty.
