The G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas is pleased to announce the John Jolly Fellowship. This prestigious fellowship is available to Ph.D. students conducting research in the field of energy accounting. The fellowship aims to support scholarly work that advances knowledge in areas such as ESG reporting, sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, accounting for renewable energy assets, and regulatory compliance in energy markets.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Open to all Ph.D. students within the G. Brint Ryan College of Business.
- Applicants must be conducting research related to energy accounting topics, including but not limited to ESG reporting, sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, and other relevant areas.
Award Amount: The fellowship will award up to $6,000 to the selectezzd recipient.
Application Process: Interested candidates should submit a research proposal of no more than 750 words to the Center for Energy Accounting and Sustainability (CEAS) by 5:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025. Proposals should highlight the relevance, methodological rigor, and potential impact of the research in the field of energy accounting.
Evaluation Criteria: The ACCT Scholarship Committee will review and evaluate all submitted proposals based on the following criteria:
- Research Relevance: The proposal's focus on pertinent issues in energy accounting, such as sustainability reporting, carbon tracking, ESG frameworks, accounting for renewable energy ventures, or regulatory challenges in energy sectors.
- Methodological Rigor: Robustness and soundness of the research methodology.
- Potential Impact: The anticipated contribution of the research to the field of accounting and related industries. The research should lead to a publication in CEAS’s journal or COPAS’s journal.
Selection Process: The recipient will be selected by the ACCT Scholarship Committee. The department chair and the CEAS Director will not participate in the selection process to ensure impartiality.
