The University of North Texas (UNT) G. Brint Ryan College of Business is proud to announce the launch of its new Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program in Management. This innovative program is designed to prepare students for one of the largest business functions - people management.

“While the department and college have strong undergraduate programs in a variety of areas, and the department has specialty areas specific to entrepreneurship, human resource management, and sport entertainment management, it did not offer a degree program targeted to one of the largest areas of employment for recent college graduates – general management positions,” said Nolan Gaffney, Interim Chair of the Department of Management. “The department’s goal for the program is to be a robust major within a couple years that will help students meet their professional goals, while helping to fulfill the mission of UNT Denton and expanding the support and options for students that choose to take classes at the Frisco campus.”

As part of the BBA, students will learn leadership skills, management concepts, organizational design, business ethics, social responsibility, international management, and e-management. These skills will enable students to confidently enter the dynamic field of business management and become the next generation of leaders.

“Most faculty members held management positions in various industries prior to coming to higher education and bring that knowledge to the classroom,” said Tammy van der Leest, Program Manager of the Management BBA. “Additionally, the program is focused on developing and maintaining relationships with corporate America, providing critical employment pipelines for graduates of the program.”

The launch of the BBA in Management program comes at a time when demand for skilled managers is on the rise. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in management occupations is projected to grow significantly over the next decade, creating numerous opportunities for graduates.

“The Department of Labor expects significant growth in management roles through 2032,” van der Leest said. “The growth rate in the profession is expected to be 5-9% greater than other professional areas.”

Prospective students can apply for the BBA in Management program starting this fall. For more information about the program, please visit the Management BBA webpage.
