Erin Welch, MBA, SHRM-SCP, serves as a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Management at the University of North Texas (UNT), where she teaches undergraduate courses in human resource management and organizational behavior, including Organizational Behavior (MGMT 3720), Workplace Health and Safety (MGMT 4180), and Talent Acquisition and Management (MGMT 4300). She is passionate about enhancing the student experience, mentoring future HR professionals, and helping students connect classroom learning with meaningful career opportunities.
In addition to teaching, Erin actively supports student leadership and professional development initiatives. She serves as co-advisor to the UNT Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) student chapter, advisor to Delight Ministries UNT, and HR Internship Lead for The People Center at UNT, where she collaborates with employers to support HR internship opportunities and career exploration for UNT students.
Erin earned bachelor’s degrees from UNT in Entrepreneurship and Risk Management and Insurance before beginning her career in property insurance. She later earned her MBA with a concentration in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources and joined the Department of Management in 2014. Her teaching and service have been recognized with multiple Department of Management Teaching Excellence Awards and the Mean Green Faculty Spotlight Award.
Erin also holds the SHRM-SCP credential, a senior-level certification recognizing strategic expertise in human resource management and organizational leadership.
