What is the EDGE Program
Welcome to the RCOB EDGE Program! This is a student engagement program designed to
help you find and participate in activities happening across the college through our
exclusive app powered by Suitable!
This program enables you to build competencies that are essential to your academic and career success while acquiring valuable skillsets. Get an E.D.G.E. over your competition!
The ultimate goal is for you to complete all five readiness competencies, by the time you graduate. At the end of each year, students who have completed all five will be recognized at a special event hosted by the college. Additionally, all graduates who complete all five readiness competencies, will be presented a special pin/stole and will be acknowledged by the Dean at graduation.
Career and Professional Development
Assess your personal strengths and interests, navigate career opportunities and develop skillsets necessary to enhance your employability upon graduation.
Leadership and Teamwork
Develop skills to take accountability, effectively communicate and leverage the strengths of others to achieve common goals.
Cultural Engagement and Community Building
Demonstrate the awareness and skills required to equitably engage people from different cultures and create an environment that’s welcoming to all.
Student Success
Create habits that lead to success in and out of the classroom and strengthen your network within the Ryan College of Business.
Ethical and Social Responsibility
Identify personal values, understand your interdependence within the community and positively contribute to the sustainability and well-being of UNT.
How it works
- Download the Suitable App.
(Scan the QR Code to download the app or search, “Suitable” in your app store)
- Complete Tasks. Attent Events.
- Earn Badges. Win Incentives.
You can earn incentives for activities, event attendance, and accomplishments at varying levels. The EDGE Program encourages you to engage with peers, utilize campus resources, and pushes you to grow personally and professionally.
Getting Started
- Login to the App
- Use this email format: EUID@untsystem.edu. (DO NOT use your my.unt.edu email address.)
- Allow notifications from the Suitable App
- This will ensure that you receive push notifications for events, activities and any updates. Also, make sure to give the app access to your camera, this is so you can scan QR Codes when attending events.
- View Tasks & Upcoming Events in the App
- Search for Tasks and Events that may be of interest to you
- Keep track of points earned in comparison to your peers through the Global Leaderboard
- Earn Incentives for getting involved
Accomplishments
In July 2023, RCOB was awarded the Suitable Spirit Award at the Pathways conference.
The Suitable Spirit Award recognizes programs that embody the values of Suitable,
including teamwork, creativity, excellence, diversity, integrity, persistence, and
grit.- Since we debuted the app in Fall 2022, students have completed more than 17,000 activities!
