To receive the registration link for a webinar, students must send the class number they want attendance credit for in an email to Chris.Peavy@unt.edu. Registration will remain open until noon the day before the webinar starts. No registration links will be sent to students who request it after noon. Students who use the provided link to register for the webinar will be included on the attendance reports generated by IANA which includes arrival and departure times on the day of the event.

Ted Prince, CEO & Founder, Tri-Cities Intermodal, will explain how intermodal has evolved throughout time by incorporating history, economics, and policy. This “what is intermodal?” discussion will cover such topics as: the growth of international containerization; how domestic intermodal has continued to change; and the changing infrastructure. These topics will be considered within the broader contexts of intermodal’s relative competitiveness to other modes. Ted is an internationally recognized teacher on intermodal transportation.

Based upon his findings from the forthcoming IANA report, Intermodal at the Crossroads: Leader of the ‘'Growth Pivot,” Senior Transportation Analyst Tony Hatch joins us to have a look back at the past ten years of intermodal. He will offer explanations as to what occurred differently than expected (and why) in the North American intermodal network since the last report published in 2014. He will also analyze where the industry is headed in the next decade, including what can be done to (re)turn the tide to intermodal market growth.

Utilizing numerous sources, including IANA’s Intermodal Volume Analyzer and the Equipment Type, Size and Ownership (ETSO) database, as well as his own publication in partnership with IANA, Intermodal In-Depth, Larry will provide a detailed examination of the outcomes from 2024 as well as major emerging themes.
