Meet Megan McAdams, MBA, Administrative Coordinator for the Department of Management at the Ryan College of Business. Since joining UNT in 2023, Megan has become a familiar and trusted face in the department. Known for her positive attitude, approachable nature and willingness to help wherever she’s needed.

Megan McAdamsWith a background in healthcare administration and consulting, Megan took an unexpected career turn into higher education and quickly discovered a new professional home. Today, she plays an essential role in supporting faculty and students, keeping the department organized and helping navigate the ever-changing needs of a large and dynamic academic community.

But beyond her title and responsibilities, Megan is someone who genuinely enjoys being the person others can count on. Whether she’s helping ease a student’s stress, supporting a faculty member or sharing the institutional knowledge she’s gained along the way, she brings a thoughtful, people-first approach to everything she does.

After earning her B.S. in Healthcare Administration from UTD in 2015 and her MBA in Healthcare Management in 2018, Megan began her career in healthcare before moving into consulting. She spent three years living and working in San Diego as a Project Manager for a newly established healthcare consulting firm before returning to Texas and continuing with the company remotely.

In 2023, Megan took a leap into a completely new industry when she joined UNT—and quickly discovered that higher education was exactly where she belonged.

“I had no idea where I wanted to go from there,” Megan says of making the transition away from healthcare.

“Higher Education was never on my radar, but now I can’t see myself in any other industry.”

As an Administrative Coordinator, Megan describes her role as ever-changing, requiring a balance of organization, flexibility and plenty of problem-solving. She works to keep faculty, students, academics and budgets moving forward, particularly during times of transition.

Whether helping a student through a stressful situation, supporting faculty or simply being the person someone can turn to for an answer, Megan finds fulfillment in making other people’s days a little easier.

She also credits her experience in healthcare with giving her an important perspective: “There are things that are life and death, so it is important to know the things that aren’t.”

As part of one of RCOB’s largest and most dynamic departments, Megan has learned to work with a wide range of personalities and working styles, and considers that one of her greatest strengths. Her goal is simple: understand what people need and meet them where they are.

Looking ahead, Megan hopes to continue being a source of support and institutional knowledge for the Department of Management and RCOB.

Her ultimate goal? To become the person everyone knows they can count on: “Go ask Megan, I bet she knows.”

We’re so grateful to have Megan as part of the Ryan College of Business community.
