Academic Interests

Dr. Julie Hancock is an Associate Professor of Management and Executive Director of The People Center at the University of North Texas. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Memphis. Dr. Hancock teaches courses include organizational behavior, organizational design and change, and human resources management at the graduate level. Her primary research interests include the flow of people into and out of organizations, collective turnover, contagion effects, and pro-social rule breaking. Her work on these topics has been published in Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Relations, Human Resource Management Review, and Human Resource Management. Dr. Hancock is actively involved with the Academy of Management and the Southern Management Assocation. In 2023, she was the recipient of the Academy of Management HR Division’s David P. Lepak Service Award and was also elected to the SMA Board.
