Maryam Khatami

Maryam Khatami is an assistant professor of management science and business analytics in the Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences at G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas (UNT). Before joining UNT, she was a visiting assistant professor of operations and decision technologies at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. She received her PhD in Operations Research from Texas A&M University in 2020.

Dr. Khatami’s primary research interest is decision-making under uncertainty. She develops rigorous mathematical models and applies data analytics techniques to enhance healthcare systems and supply chain management. Dr. Khatami has collaborated with several hospitals to improve patient flow and reduce congestion, particularly by improving the discharge process. She has also conducted research on supply chain network design and location-routing problems. Her research works have been published in leading academic journals like Decision Sciences, Transportation Research Part E, and IISE Transactions. She is a recipient of the Best Paper Award of IISE Transactions Focus Issue on Operations Engineering & Analytics, and Indiana University’s FACET’s Mumford Excellence in Extraordinary Teaching Award.
