Dr. Peggy Jimenez has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of North Texas since 2019. She earned her Ph.D. in Accounting and M.S. in Taxation from UNT and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University-Hawaii. She is a CPA licensed in the state of California. Before entering academia, Dr. Jimenez worked in KPMG's federal tax department in Silicon Valley, California. Her teaching interests include financial accounting, managerial accounting, and taxation. Her research focuses on judgment and decision-making by taxpayers, tax professionals, and managers, with a particular emphasis on social and psychological factors that influence tax compliance decisions. Dr. Jimenez’s research has been published in academic journals including Applied Psychology: An International Review, Advances in Accounting, and the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy. Her practitioner-oriented work has also appeared in Tax Notes and Tax Notes State. Outside of work, Dr. Jimenez enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband and three children, and serving in her community.
