Vidhi Jain

Vidhi is currently a fourth-year Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Management in the job market. Her academic journey began with undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, followed by a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in data analytics from Texas A&M University, College Station. Before joining UNT, Vidhi gained valuable industry experience as a financial data analyst at Clearwater Analytics in Boise, Idaho, where she worked for two years.

Research Interests

Vidhi's research interests revolve around the dynamic intersection of emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and society. Specifically, she is intrigued by the factors that drive radical innovations both for firms and on a broader societal scale, as well as the ramifications of such technology adoption for entrepreneurship and society. Vidhi employs methodologies such as panel regression, machine learning, and large language models in her research, but is open to learning new methods tailored to the research questions. She has presented her research at esteemed conferences like the Academy of Management, the Academy of International Business, the Southern Management Association, the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference, and the Journal of Product Innovation Management Research Forum. Her commitment to impactful research earned her recognition as a finalist for the Social Issues in Management (SIM) division’s Outstanding Business Ethics Paper Award in 2025.

Teaching Philosophy and Interests

Along with becoming a competent researcher, Vidhi is committed to becoming a proficient instructor. She aims to capitalize on the opportunities offered to her and continue to develop as a professor, while creating a stimulating environment for my students. Her teaching philosophy is centered on creating an engaging, practical, and supportive learning environment that prepares students for their professional journeys. She believes that education should bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that students not only understand theoretical concepts but also develop the skills and mindset necessary for real-world challenges. To achieve this, she emphasizes three key principles in her teaching: 1. make possible real-world applications, 2. prepare students for the workforce, and 3. create a healthy learning environment.

Vidhi is open to teaching a wide range of courses, including entrepreneurship, strategy, technology management, business ethics, and international business. She has interacted with more than 200 undergraduate and graduate students in various roles—serving as a lead instructor, teaching assistant, and research assistant in online and face-to-face formats.
