Tristan, is a PLP Student Director, as well as the President, for the Fall 2024 semester. Tristan is a senior graduating this fall with a major in Biology from the College of Science. He has been in PLP since the Spring 2024 session and will be applying for medical school in the Spring following his graduation. PLP is incredibly important to Tristan because he has found that the greatest inspirations to succeed and lead has come from meeting and being mentored by the peers around him. PLP is excellent at connecting members with fellow students who not only push each other and celebrate successes, but also want to grow alongside each person to help better each other in teamwork and servant leadership. Along with Tristan’s studies, he enjoys classical singing, as well as spending time with his girlfriend.

Olivia is a Senior in the College of Business majoring in Business Analytics. She is a Pre-Law student and planning on attending law school after graduating in May of 2025. Olivia is this semester’s Social Coordinator/Community Engagement Student Director. This is her second semester of PLP. She is also a Housing Ambassador for UNT’s Housing and Residence Life department. Olivia loves PLP because of how it creates a notable difference in students’ abilities and confidence throughout the semester. During her PLP experience, her mentors and peers have had a great impact on her. She also enjoys helping current PLP members develop the skills they need to work towards achieving their goals. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her friends, listening to music, reading fantasy novels, and writing.

PLP has been an incredible resource for Jordan, providing networking opportunities with both peers and the corporate community. Through PLP, she has honed her skills in public speaking, professional presentations, and hands-on workshops. Jordan has received an offer to work as a Tier 1 Writing Evaluator for AI chatbots and technology. During this past summer, she rediscovered her love for playing the piano—a favorite hobby that also keeps her memory sharp. Jordan is genuinely looking forward to meeting new faces this semester!

Abira Kaur was born and raised in DFW and will be a senior at UNT this fall. She is majoring in Marketing and hopes to get her MBA post-grad. The Professional Leadership Program gave her the tools she needed to thrive in a professional setting and grow her network. Outside of PLP, Abira completed a business internship at Toyota North America and is the VP of Advertising for the American Marketing Association this year. In her free time, you will find her traveling, working on her food blog, reading, or spending time with friends and family.
Coleton Horner

Coleton is a Junior in the College of Engineering majoring in Computer Science. He’s a first-generation student, a father to a beautiful three-year-old son named Peter, and a part-time IT Technician for Geek Squad. In his limited spare time, Coleton enjoys writing and recording his own music, dismantling old computers, designing IOS apps, reading historical or fantasy novels, going to the gym, building Legos, and playing video games. He has been with PLP since the Spring semester of 2024 and has honed several skills through the program that many first-gen students struggle with, such as: writing a resume, applying for scholarships, applying for internships, and interviewing with prospective companies. In fact, he greatly attributes his position at Geek Squad to the time he’s spent as a member of the PLP.
