Please read this page fully for details about MS/MBA application deadlines and the application process, and download an Application Checklist PDF here. All applications in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business are reviewed holistically. Prospective and admitted students are encouraged to schedule advising appointments or attend one of our virtual information sessions to find out more about our MBA and MS programs and application process. If you are ALREADY ADMITTED (but have not yet started your program) and need to UPDATE to a later term, please see this information.
The deadlines below reflect the last possible day to apply through UNT GradCAS. Applying earlier is recommended to ensure a timely admission decision and, assuming admission, course registration prior to the start of the semester.
Desired Starting Semester | International Application Deadline* | Domestic Application Deadline |
---|---|---|
Summer | May 15 | June 15 |
Fall | June 15 | August 15 |
Spring | January 5 | January 5 |
*If seeking an F1 Visa and do not yet reside in the U.S., you should apply a minimum of two months PRIOR to the dates listed to allow time for issuance of an I20.
Submit application via GradCAS. Prior to applying, ensure your desired program is available for your desired starting semester and status (domestic vs. international).
Applicants must list ALL colleges and universities attended or currently attending. Failure to list full academic history will delay processing.
Essay of 600-700 words for all applicants:
Original narrative about your goals and what distinguishes you as a strong candidate
for this program.
(applicants to the MBA Music Business should submit 300-400 words and include portfolio links)
Resume/CV: Upload to GradCAS.
Three (3) Recommendations from Professional and/or Academic references if required for your desired program*:
*Recommendations are NOT required for applications to the MS Business Analytics, MS Information Systems and Technology or to any of the Accounting Master’s programs. All other programs require recommendations.
International Applicants: Please review this page for instructions on transcripts and English Language Proficiency.
GMAT/GRE scores: Required of all applicants unless waived based on GPA (which varies based on program). You may self-report scores, but official scores must be submitted directly to UNT from the testing agency (GRE code is 6481, no code required for GMAT). See waiver policy below.
If an applicant qualifies for a waiver of test scores, the waiver will be extended automatically upon verification of the applicant’s GPA. Work experience or other assessments will not be considered in lieu of GMAT or GRE exam scores. If you attended U.S. institutions, you may email copies of transcripts to Julie.Jernigan@unt.edu to determine eligibility of testing waiver prior to applying. If you attended international institutions, your eligibility will be determined after you apply and your transcripts are evaluated.
Scores may not be more than (5) years old. Recommended scores: GMAT 520-570 or GRE 153 verbal/154 quant. Applicants may test at a testing center or take the test via online format. You must request official scores be sent to the Toulouse Graduate School at UNT.
