The ITDS department welcomes industry-academic partnerships and the opportunity to engage with business leaders. We believe the opportunities that arise from these relationships create a rich learning environment for our students and benefit businesses by connecting them with world-class researchers in information systems and business analytics. There are a variety of ways in which your organization can engage with our students and faculty.
The ITDS department is home to two student organizations, the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS).
AIS is a student organization benefiting Business and BCIS majors. The primary purpose of AIS is to link UNT students with Dallas / Ft. Worth's largest and most successful companies and business leaders. With the support of the ITDS department, AIS aids students in preparing for graduation and moving into the world of business. AIS holds regular sponsored meetings in which business leaders have an hour to talk with members about their company, values, and work culture.
The ITDS department is home to talented faculty who conduct research featured in the most selective academic journals in the information systems and business analytics disciplines. Our faculty regularly engage with organizations to conduct real-world research and to use their considerable experience to help solve business problems. In addition to these opportunities, organizations that would like to help set the direction of our programs may participate in our Advisory Board. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please contact Dr. Russell Torres.
