As Dean, Dr. Marilyn Wiley oversees all academic, budget and personnel activities
for the G. Brint Ryan College of Business, serving as the chief academic officer and
providing leadership to ensure the effectiveness and success of the college. To that
end, she is responsible for fulfilling the college mission and strategic plan, while
simultaneously supporting the university mission and goals.
Dean Wiley also serves as president of the Dallas-Fort Worth CFA Society and consults
for the CFA Institute on curriculum issues. She recently served as a member of the
Board of Directors of the Fort Worth chapter of Financial Executives International.
Senior Associate Dean of the G. Brint Ryan College of Business
Dr. Terry Pohlen supports the day-to-day operations and processes of the college.
This includes everything within the college building and surrounding areas, from technology
and student laboratories to the building furniture and college budget. Dr. Pohlen
also assists with in-class instruction needs and supporting budgets, coordinates external
research funding and acts on behalf of the Dean, as needed.
Pamela Milner began her role at the University of North Texas in 2000 as an Academic
Counselor. Currently, she serves in the role of Director, Academic Services with her
primary focus on student affairs for the College's Undergraduate students. She oversees
the front office and assists with curriculum oversight as well as being a departmental
liaison. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication with a minor in
Management from Texas A&M University, College Station and her Master of Education
in Counseling and Human Development from Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene, TX. Prior
to coming to UNT, Pamela worked in the corporate world as a paralegal. She brings
a wealth of knowledge to the college pulling from her background, community work and
experience in various industries. She has a passion for seeing students succeed and
will work with them to find pathways to help in that success.
Associate Dean for Assessment and Academic Reporting
As Associate Dean for Assessment and Academic Reporting, Dr. Tracy Dietz is responsible
for overseeing the annual student learning outcome assessment in support of SACS and
AACSB compliance, accreditation reporting and activities including development of
the annual impact reports and self-studies, as well as college rankings. She is also
responsible for reporting and responding to organizations outside the college, including
the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Association of Accredited Colleges
and Schools of Business, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and
is responsible for responding to internal and external data requests.
As Associate Dean for Academic Programs, Dr. John Puthenpurackal oversees undergraduate,
masters and doctoral programs in the Ryan College of Business. A 2002 Ph.D. Finance
graduate of Texas A&M University, he has been in academia for over 20 years, serving
at Ohio University, University of Nevada-Las Vegas and at the University of North
Texas since 2019. He has served as department chair for 8 years. He has published
in reputed finance academic journals such as Journal of Financial and Quantitative
Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, Financial Management and Journal of Business,
Finance and Accounting.
