The initiative focuses broadly on how corporations respond to regulations, market dynamics, and organizational incentives. In addition to encouraging and fostering faculty scholarship, the initiative seeks to educate and interact with UNT students and the broader Metroplex and business communities about the role of corporations in society.
Among other topics, FIREL faculty focus on issues such as Corporate Governance and Accountability, Market Structures and Regulation, Business and the Legal Environment, and Innovation, Policy, and Institutional Design.
FIREL welcomes involvement from UNT faculty, students, and members of the business community who are interested in the intersection of law, markets, and corporate governance.
These seminars feature research from FIREL faculty and distinguished scholars from other business schools, fostering scholarly exchange on topics at the intersection of firms, markets, and the law.
In addition to academic presentations, FIREL invites practitioners to share perspectives from industry, law, and policy, connecting applied experience with the study of corporate governance, regulation, and market behavior.
Our Visiting Scholars program brings distinguished academics and professionals to UNT to collaborate, present research, and engage with the FIREL community for an extended period.
