"The MS in Finance dove deep into the basic knowledge of finance I learned during my undergraduate and has given me a distinct advantage in the workplace. Many students worry that they don’t feel prepared after college for what the workplace may expect of you. However, because of the MS finance I stepped into my role and could provide value from day one without the anxiety of feeling unprepared. In fact, because of how well rounded the degree plan is, within a short amount of time I was offering new ideas and solutions to my job. Deciding to continue my studies was the best choice I made for my success and development in the field of finance. Without UNTs fantastic faculty and business school I would not be in the position I am today. Every class in the master’s program provided exposure to methodologies and guidelines to concepts that no matter which avenue business you decide to go to you will apply those skills directly. Aside from what you will learn in the MS finance, one of the greatest attributes to the UNT Business school is that you have all the opportunities of a large university with a small community culture. The relationships and network you develop at UNT are second to none and the faculty and colleagues you meet along the way will stay as lifetime mentors and friends."

"UNT has a long-standing legacy of academics and research, vibrant campus culture, perfect location & ample student resources. This provides an environment of learning along with dedicated support for career growth and job opportunities.

Being an IT professional with a career break, it was extremely tough for me to get into mainstream jobs. ITDS helped me bridge the gap, groomed me as a professional, equipped me with technical and business skillsets required to confidently conduct myself in a corporate setting. On the technical front, this program has tremendously helped me in diversifying my analytical skill sets and to be absolute hands on in Data and analytics space. I enjoyed it the most, being part of the college culture, yet again. I enjoyed the on-site classroom sessions where interactions and discussions with my learned professors used to provide a different perspective to any topic.

This program is suitable for anyone who wants to set their career path in Data Analytics (technical or business role), whatever background he/she comes from. UNT has a superb reputation as an academic institution and is popular among most reputed organizations. So, career options are ample if you are ready to learn! The various courses in this MS-BA program equipped me to start a new journey at Amazon! I would strongly recommend this program to everyone who wants to build their career in the field of analytics and is passionate about gaining deep business cognizance."

"Prior to UNT, I was working as a market research analyst in Singapore. My work involved consulting with clients on various business challenges and leveraging data to provide actionable insights. I had developed a keen interest in the various analytical paradigms and saw a long term career for myself in it. Therefore, I decided to join MS Business Analytics (MSBA) at UNT as I felt that the curriculum matched the rigorous standards of the industry, focused on building analytical fundamentals & skills which would allow me to continually improve with the ever changing technological landscape.

While at UNT, I really valued the interactions with the professors who constantly mapped academic knowledge to real world scenarios based on their years of professional experiences. They constantly encouraged everyone to take part in various analytical competitions and were ever ready to guide the teams when needed. These competitions & projects allowed me to apply my classroom knowledge, build confidence & also learn from other like-minded individuals. These skills I picked up & the MSBA's credit structure allowed me to secure a full-time internship at Tesla and complete my Masters within my desired timeline. I graduated in Spring 2022 and have been working as a Senior Data Engineer at Ernst & Young(EY), combining my passion for consulting and using technology to solve difficult business problems & develop some really cool ideas along the way."

"I graduated from the University of North Texas in December 2023 with a Master's degree in Business Analytics from the Information Technology and Decision Sciences (ITDS) program. With a solid background in Computer Science and Business Analytics from my bachelor’s degree at Sandip University, India, I chose UNT and specifically the ITDS program due to its curriculum and focus on providing a comprehensive education in analytics.

In addition to my academic endeavors, I had the opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant for Professor Dr. Nassim Sohaee, which further enriched my learning experience. In this role, I was involved in grading and assisting the professor with coursework at the graduate level. I helped students understand complex topics and guided them through their coursework, contributing to their academic success. Additionally, I proctored exams, gaining valuable insights into the teaching and assessment process.

I would like to express my gratitude to Dr. Sourav Chatterjee for teaching important Data Science and Machine Learning concepts and to Dr. Kashif Saeed for imparting crucial knowledge in Enterprise Data Warehouse and Big Data analytics. The concepts taught by them played a pivotal role in my professional journey, helping me convert my internship into a full-time role as a Data Scientist in my current company. Their guidance during the application process for multiple internships was invaluable, and I credit them for contributing significantly to my success.

The ITDS program at UNT has played a crucial role in helping me reach my professional goals. The program's emphasis on practical skills, exposure to real-world projects, and utilization of tools like Power BI and SQL Server Management Studio significantly contributed to my proficiency as a Data Analyst. The hands-on experience and collaboration with industry professionals like the HUMANA-MAYS Healthcare Analytics Case competition and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case competitions have been invaluable.

The most important part of the learning process was the practical application of analytical techniques in real-world scenarios. The program's emphasis on projects, case studies, and competitions allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to solve complex business challenges, preparing me for the demands of the professional world.

Outside the classroom, leading the Business Analytics Club as President was a rewarding experience. Organizing hackathons, seminars, and Business Analytics Day not only enhanced my leadership skills but also fostered knowledge-sharing and skill development within the club, creating a vibrant community.

For someone deciding whether to apply and attend UNT, I would advise them to consider the practical and hands-on approach of the ITDS program. The emphasis on real-world applications, industry collaboration, and a supportive community make UNT a great choice for those seeking a well-rounded education in analytics.
