Graduate Accounting Programs

The UNT MS programs in Accounting and Taxation are 33 hours credit hours (11 courses), and are full-time cohort style programs. Both programs are taught on the Denton campus, with most classes taught during the day.

GMAT/GRE Scores

GMAT/GRE Waiver Policy:

  • Testing is waived for applicants who have earned a doctoral or professional doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Testing is waived for applicants with a Master's degree and a 3.0 GPA from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Testing is waived for applicants with a Bachelor's degree and a 3.0 GPA (either cumulatively or last-60-hour) from a regionally accredited institution

If test score requirement is not waived scores may not be more than (5) years old. Recommended scores: GMAT 520-570 or GRE 153 verbal/154 quant. Applicants may test at a testing center or take the test via online format. You must request official scores be sent to the Toulouse Graduate School at UNT. You can submit unofficial scores to RCOBMasters@unt.edu.

Additional Application Requirements

Applicants will need to meet the admission requirements for the Toulouse Graduate School, but must also meet the G. Brint Ryan College of Business requirements. Applicants are eligible to apply to begin the program in either fall or spring. Prior to applying to these programs, applicants are required to have completed business and accounting-specific coursework completed at a four-year accredited institution listed here:

Applicants deficient in the background coursework will need to complete these courses to be eligible to apply. Applicants are also required to have a 3.0 Accounting GPA. Accounting GPA is calculated by using grades from Intermediate Accounting I, Intermediate Accounting II, Cost Accounting, Accounting Systems, Advanced & Not for Profits Accounting Principles, Federal Income Tax I, Federal Income Tax II, Auditing.
