BDO Capital Advisors, LLC announced the appointment of John D. (Jack) Kearney, Sr. as a managing director. Kearney operates out of BDO Capital’s (formerly Trenwith Securities) Dallas office and is responsible for sourcing and closing M&A transactions and facilitating capital raises for middle-market companies in the south central United States. In addition, he supports BDO’s Private Equity initiative in the region.

Prior to joining BDO, Kearney was managing director of Investment Banking and founding member of Dumas Capital Partners, a Dallas-based corporate finance and merchant banking firm. During his tenure at Dumas, Kearney managed stock and asset sales in the process manufacturing, printing, specialty advertising and HVAC industries. He also managed stock and asset acquisitions in the chemical, printing, specialty advertising and oil & gas industries, as well as capital raises and debt restructurings in the chemical, process manufacturing, printing, specialty advertising, pharmacy and home healthcare industries.

Before Dumas, Kearney served as executive vice president of Corporate Development and director at Daisytek International Corporation where he initiated, negotiated and closed both strategic and tactical acquisitions of companies located Europe, North America, South America and Australia. Prior to Daisytek, Kearney was employed at F.Y.I. Incorporated as vice president of Corporate Development.

Kearney also has extensive experience providing financial advisory services to public companies, including M&A and private placement advisory services and the initial public and follow-on offerings of common stock, ADRs and convertible debentures for clients in a wide range of industries while with Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, Inc., Raymond James & Associates, Inc. and The Robinson-Humphrey Company, Inc.

Before becoming an investment banker, Kearney was CEO of The Vault Company and a tax senior with Deloitte Haskins & Sells. He holds a B.A. in Political Science with Highest Honors from the State University of New York at Oneonta, a J.D. from Duke University’s School of Law and an M.B.A from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He was licensed as an Attorney and as a Certified Public Accountant in Georgia.
