Dietz

Biography: 

Dr. Dietz earned at B.A. in Sociology and Communications at Stephen F. Austin State University in 1990, and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of North Texas in 1992 and 1995, respectively. She also received a graduate certification in aging studies from the University of North Texas in 1994 and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Family Research Laboratory at the University of New Hampshire from 1996-1997. She was an assistant and associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Central Florida from 1997 – 2009. While at UCF, she served as undergraduate program coordinator for the sociology program. Later she served in administrative capacities as IRB Chair, and as Coordinator of Assessment and Accreditation in the UCF Provost’s Office. Dr. Dietz joined the UNT G. Brint Ryan College of Business in August 2009. She serves the UNT G. Brint Ryan College of Business as a specialist in the assessment of student learning outcomes and maintenance of accreditation. She also assists with academic reporting in the college and with external grant production. Dr. Dietz continues to conduct research in the area of social inequalities, family violence, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. In addition to authoring more than 30 journal articles and book chapters, Dr. Dietz serves on the editorial boards of several journals and executive councils of scholarly organizations and non-profit service organizations.
