Dr. Salimath's research interests include cross national and institutional predictors of entrepreneurship, new venture activity, start-up dynamics, social entrepreneurship, ethics, non-market strategies, governance, sustainability, innovation and techno entrepreneurship. She has published in journals such as Decision Sciences, Journal of Business Research, Technovation, Journal of Business Ethics, Management Decision, International Journal of Organizational Analysis, International Journal of Production Economics, Electronic Commerce Research, Sustainability, Knowledge Management Research & Practice, Thunderbird International Business Review, Business and Society Review, International Journal of Business Innovation and Research, Business Information Review, Journal of Business and Management, New England Journal of Entrepreneurship, Frontiers of Entrepreneurship Research as well as encyclopedias, reference series, monographs, and books. Dr. Salimath is a member of the editorial board of journals such as Management Decision and Journal of Business Strategies, and also served as the Track Chair for Entrepreneurship, Small Business and Strategic Management in conferences such as the Decision Sciences Institute, Western Academy of Management, Southwest Academy of Management and International Council for Small Business. Her research, teaching and service have received recognition and accolades. Dr. Salimath is the past President of the Southwest Academy of Management and past board member of the Federation of Business Disciplines. She is also the founding program chair of the International Conference on Entrepreneurship & Family Business, a joint undertaking by the Ryan College of Business, UNT and the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Dr. Salimath has served in numerous leadership roles in professional organizations, department, college and university, such as Academic Affairs Fellow (Provost's office), co-chair of the COACHE steering committee, chair of faculty mentor committee (senate), master's program director, faculty advisor, curriculum committees, and others. She has chaired doctoral dissertations in the areas of digital and social entrepreneurship, technology adoption, innovation, ethics and non-market strategies.
Dr. Salimath teaches Advanced Entrepreneurship (capstone course), Technology and Innovation Management, Small Business Development, as well as courses in Business Policy, International Management (graduate and undergraduate), Organizational Theory and Management of Innovation and Technology (doctoral seminars).
