Biography: 

Dr. Donna Glenn is a Lecturer in the Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences (ITDS) in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas. Dr. Glenn holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, a Master of Science in Software Engineering, and Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.

Dr. Glenn has over 25 years of experience in government and private industry. Her work as a software engineer and project manager in the field of computer- based information systems (IS) for the U.S. Federal Government included oversight of requirements, development, testing, configuration, security, and operation support of worldwide systems for the United States Navy. A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Dr. Glenn has applied quantitative methods and quality practices on many projects to maximize profit, reduce risk, and increase productivity and quality.

While working for the Navy, Dr. Glenn was trained as a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma (LSS), from the Naval Seas Systems Lean Six Sigma College at Suffolk, Virginia. Dr. Glenn also received her certification from the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Software Engineering Institute (SEI) in Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). CMMI included the following courses of Introduction to Capability Maturity Model Integration, Intermediate Concepts of Capability Maturity Model, High Maturity with Statistics, and Mastering Process Improvements.

Dr. Glenn teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Technology and Business Analytics at the University of North Texas. These courses identify how information technology impacts organizations, individuals and society and differentiate the steps of system development. Dr. Glenn also teach a graduate capstone course online at the University of West Florida for computer science majors.  

Dr. Glenn’s research interests are in the area of software engineering, Lean Six Sigma, business process improvement, and information security. She has a special interest in her new class, Blockchain for Business.
