Biography: 

Mr. Rob Lewin has over 33 years of experience as a logistics professional working for companies in various industries, including logistics providers (BAX Global, DHL & Seko), Oil & Gas (Arco International Oil & Gas), Telecommunications (DSC / Alcatel), and High Technology ( EDS). He is currently employed as Director of Worldwide Logistics by Flowserve, a leading manufacturer and aftermarket service provider of comprehensive flow management products and services. The recognized world leader in supplying pumps, valves, seals, automation, and services to the power, oil, gas, chemical, and other industries.

Mr. Lewin was born in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). After completing his military service, he moved with his wife to Israel in 1978 where he began his career in Logistics with Burlington Northern Airfreight (BAX). He immigrated to the USA with his wife and two sons in 1983.

Mr. Lewin has had many unique experiences throughout his logistics career including shipping Dolphins from Miami Sea World to Israel Sea World, shipping 40 containers of Cow patties from Amarillo Texas to Germany (as part of a University experiment), and rats to Jakarta so one of his companies ex patriots could continue her biological degree by correspondence. He chartered the first Antonov 124 Russian cargo plane to land in Dallas and has conducted logistics studies in Yemen, Syria, Egypt, China, Congo, Ecuador and Vietnam just to name a few. Mr. Lewin also led a team that developed a very successful Lead Logistics Program for Alcatel USA. This program was turned into a case study presentation addressed to the logistics community. The study, made jointly with key representatives from Pegasus Logistics Group, Circle International, McCollisters and Alcatel USA, was presented at APICS and Council of Logistics Management annual meetings. The case study was published in the Inbound Logistics Magazine and earned the team “The American Society of Transportation & Logistics Partnership Award.”
