Blankson

Biography: 

Dr. Charles Blankson - Professor (Marketing), received his Ph.D. in Marketing from Kingston University, London, UK, and his M.Sc. in Marketing from Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent, UK. He has a post-graduate certificate in education (PGCE) – a UK teachers’ qualifying certificate from the University of Greenwich, London, UK. He holds the professional marketing diploma (Dip. M.) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the American Marketing Association and the Academy of Marketing Science. He pursued post-doctoral research in small business management at the Kingston University Small Business Research Center prior to commencing university teaching career. He has many years experience in the retail and services industry in the UK and in France. He held managerial positions with Burger King (UK) Ltd., the London Borough of Wandsworth and graduate trainee positions with Marks & Spencer Stores Ltd. and Harrods Store Ltd. Dr. Blankson has been a visiting scholar in marketing at Kingston University Business School and the University of Ghana Business School where he taught courses at the undergraduate, masters, EMBA and masters in philosophy. In addition he supervises masters’ theses at Kingston University Business School and doctoral theses at the University of Ghana Business School. He initiated, researched and successfully set up a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the University of North Texas and the University of Ghana. Dr. Blankson is Charn Uswachoke international development fellow at UNT. His research interests include strategic marketing – product, service, brand, firm, and country positioning strategies and models, industrial and services marketing in developing and newly industrialized countries, credit card and bank services marketing, small business marketing, and international/multicultural marketing. Dr. Blankson’s research articles have been published or are forthcoming in the Journal of Advertising Research, the Journal of Business Research, the European Journal of Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, Psychology & Marketing, the Journal of Marketing Theory & Practice, the Journal of Marketing Management, the Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, the International Journal of Advertising, the Journal of Services Marketing, the Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, the Journal of Product & Brand Management, Thunderbird International Business Review, the Journal of Global Business, the Journal of Strategic Marketing and others. Dr. Blankson is on the editorial review boards of Industrial Marketing Management and the Journal of International Marketing and is ad-hoc reviewer for several marketing journals including the International Marketing Review, the Journal Business Research, the Journal of Marketing Management, Thunderbird International Business Review and the Journal of Product & Brand Management.
