Neel

Biography: 

Michael Neel is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business. He earned his PhD in Accounting from Texas A&M University. He also holds a Master of Economics from North Carolina State University and B.S. in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Dr. Neel’s primary teaching interest is financial accounting. He previously taught at the University of Houston where he received both departmental and college-wide awards in recognition of his teaching. He is also an active member of the American Accounting Association and his research focuses on financial reporting outcomes and incentives, as well as international accounting issues. He has published in Contemporary Accounting Research and Review of Accounting Studies. Outside of work, Dr Neel enjoys camping, hiking, travelling, and spending time with his family.
