My name is Emily Merritt. I am currently pursuing the BS/MS degree in accounting with a focus in taxation and I plan to graduate in the Spring of 2025. When I first came to the G. Brint Ryan College of Business, I was unsure of which major I wanted to declare. After taking my first two accounting courses, I knew I found something I enjoyed! After being recruited to the Accounting Scholars Program and attending meetings with various accounting professionals, I knew this area of study and program were a perfect match for me. Upon graduation, I plan to take the CPA exams and work for a public accounting firm. I am always looking for opportunities to further my knowledge of taxation and connect with others!
