PLP Student Directors

Diego Enriquez


Diego Enriquez’s serves as the President of the Professional Leadership Program. He is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelors in Mechanical and Energy Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Diego is currently working as an intern for PepsiCo- Frito Lay as a Corporate Engineer. Diego is also an active member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He has served as an Eagle Ambassador for the University. He is also a recipient of the PLP Frank Bracken Scholarship. Outside of class and work, he enjoys running and spending time with friends and family.

Sharilyn Amaya

Vice President

Sharilyn is a Senior at the University of North Texas and is studying Home Furnishings Merchandising with a minor in Marketing. She is excited and humbled to serve as Vice President for the Professional Leadership Program in its 25th year. Sharilyn currently works on the Merchandising team at IKEA in Frisco, TX and loves learning about and gaining experience in the Home Furnishings industry.

She loves traveling and experiencing new cultures and hopes to visit all 50 states and all seven continents. Sharilyn also enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking (and eating), trying new things, and adventuring, and she would rather spend more time outside than inside.

Some of the most important things Sharilyn has learned through her college journey are that it’s okay to fail, be willing to try anything once (as long as it’s not hurting anyone), and be genuine and intentional. “I’ve grown so much this past year because of PLP. I started setting goals for myself and following through on them, and I started taking better care of myself physically, mentally, and emotionally. PLP has done a lot for me, and I’m so glad I get the chance to pour into the next generation of PLP students. With PLP, we get the opportunity to grow not only as leaders but also as individuals.”

Gage Cullen

Vice President

Gage Cullen serves as the Vice President of the Professional Leadership Program here at the University of North Texas. He is a senior, majoring in Finance and will be completing his undergraduate studies with honors. Gage is currently interning at Texas Capital Bank and hopes to find a career in commercial banking upon graduation. He also serves as President of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and is a member of the Financial Management Association and Student Investment Group. In his free time, Gage enjoys hiking, fishing, traveling, live music, and spending time with friends and family.

Mashrooba Rashid

Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Mashrooba Rashid serves as one of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator. She is pursuing her undergraduate degree in Finance, while minoring in Marketing. Mashrooba chose finance because she has a huge interest in finding the most profitable and efficient ways to expand a company and maintain its success whether it’s through investing in different projects, collaborating with other companies or etc. Mashrooba is also a recipient of the PLP Frank Bracken Scholarship.

Some of her biggest interests include the music and fashion industries. Outside of school, she loves reading about the business aspects of these industries.  Mashrooba says that “learning about how designers and artists gained notoriety is so inspiring and has motivated me to continue to work on accomplishing my own goals”. She finds the influence of the both the fashion and music industries on the today’s culture to be quite fascinating.

Mashrooba looks forward to meeting the incoming members and guiding them! In its 25th year of developing leaders, she has full confidence that PLP will have yet another successful year.

Justin Gissandaner

Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Justin is a Senior, majoring in Advertising here at the University of North Texas. He will serve as one of the Marketing and Communications Coordinators for the 2018-2019 school year. He has a passion for history and the creative arts. Justin began participating in the Professional Leadership Program in the fall of 2017. He wants to use his position as an opportunity to give back to PLP as it has taught him so much about how to be a servant leader. He looks forward to working with the incoming class of students while also assisting in growing the PLP Brand.

David Cruz

Volunteer Coordinator

David Cruz is a senior majoring in Accounting, here at UNT. He is Residence Assistant at Maple Hall and serves as a Student Assistant with UNT G-Force. He is also a proud member of Omega Delta Phi, service/social fraternity. His career goal is becoming a Certified Public Accountant, working for one of the “Big Four” accounting firms as an internal auditor. In his free time he enjoys dancing, fine arts, solving puzzles, and exploring." David is also a 2018-2019 recipient of the PLP Alexia Ardeleanu Scholarship.

Hunter French

Leadership Council Coordinator

Hunter French is serving as the Leadership Council Coordinator for the 2018-2019 PLP year. He is an undergraduate student studying Mechanical and Energy Engineering and minoring in Mathematics and Aerospace Studies. Hunter is also serving as an Airman in the United States Air Force Reserves. Hunter is also a recipient of the PLP Frank Bracken Scholarship as well as several departmental scholarships. In the future, Hunter plans on changing the world by solving global problems. He is always looking to improve and hopes to make a difference wherever possible. Hunter’s life quote is “strive for perfection, achieve greatness”.

Yingchao Sun

Project Manager

Yingchao Sun serves as the Project Manager for the Professional Leadership Program. She is also an active member of the local CPA, IMA and ALPFA societies here at UNT. As an MBA student with a concentration in Auditing, Yingchao desires to pass both the CMA and CPA exams before her graduation in the May 2020. During her past year with the PLP family, Yingchao developed valuable professional and personal relationships with the mentors and her peers. As a 2018-2019 recipient of the PLP Alexia Ardeleanu Scholarship, she is grateful and inspired to serve the new members. Yingchao encourages the incoming PLP students to absorb all that PLP has to offer. In her spare time, Yingchao enjoys spending time with her husband and friends. Her hobbies include cooking, reading and yoga.

Alex Gibbons-Archer

Project Manager

Alex Gibbons-Archer is pursuing her undergraduate degree, majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in Sociology. She is an Emerald Eagle Scholar.  Alex holds positions as an SGA Student Representative on the UNT Athletic Council and as a member of Faith Filled Women of Christ. She worked in UNT Housing as a Resident Assistant for one year and as an intern for the UNT Athletic Training Internship Program. It is Alex’s goal to make a strenuous effort to graduate from North Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science and go on to further her education. She aspires to work in the medical field, particularly with sports, caring for injuries and illnesses as well as enhancing performance and helping individuals find their purpose and identity. More importantly, she wants to be her own ministry and speak into the lives of women of all demographics and backgrounds. In her spare time, Alex enjoys playing basketball, dancing, reading, and going on new adventures. 

Aliya Mukhametzhanova

Social Coordinator

Aliya will be serving as one of the Social Coordinators for the Professional Leadership Program. She is a Senior, pursuing a BBA in Finance. Aliya is also a Residence Assistant for College Inn Residence Hall, where she is striving to help students get acclimated to UNT and make it feel like home. Aliya is a recipient of the PLP Frank Bracken Scholarship. Upon graduation, it is her hope to pursue a career in finance, specifically in oil and gas industry. Aliya also aspires to get an MBA in her near future. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with my friends and family. Her hobbies include cooking, baking, swimming and traveling.

Catalina Uriarte

Social Coordinator

Catalina is a Senior at the University of North Texas, working towards her Bachelors in Public Relations. She is no stranger to community outreach and the cultivation of business and personal relationships. Having worked with nonprofits, startups, and large corporations her skills and attributes make her a key contributor to any professional team. Originally recruited to the University of North Texas as a student-athlete, Catalina loves running long distances. In her spare time, she enjoys blogging, country dancing, and doing yoga.

Devonte Snowden

Facilitator Liaison

Devonte Snowden serves as the Facilitator Liaison for the Professional Leadership Program. He is also a member of America’s Foremost Professional Business Fraternity Delta Sigma Pi. He is a Senior majoring in Finance, who aspires to work in the investments field. Devonte currently serves as an Investor Services Intern for TD Ameritrade in Westlake, TX. TD Ameritrade is one of the nation’s largest discount brokerage firms.  Upon graduation in May 2019, Devonte hopes to gain experience with a great company then return to school for an MBA in Finance.  In his spare time, Devonte loves spending quality time with friends and family. His life’s moto is “Live, Laugh, and Love”.
